Thankful for 2014 and Looking Forward to 2015
In the spirit of the Holiday Season, the Board and Staff of Carroll Gardens Association, Inc. would like to take a moment and thank you for your continued support in 2014. Because of your financial contributions, volunteer work, and advocacy, we have been able to strengthen our commitment to grassroots economic organizing and affordable housing development in Southwest Brooklyn. Reflecting on this year, we are proud to celebrate our many accomplishments, including:

- Educating and training over 350 local residents through our computer courses, affordable housing seminars, and small business workshops
- Showcasing our vibrant community with the 6th Annual Fall Festival and 8th Annual Tree Lighting, drawing over 1,500 residents
- Maintaining and improving 150 units of affordable housing for 375 low income residents
- Spearheading the renewal of the Columbia Waterfront District Merchant Association
- Joining the 421-A Reform Campaign, a broad-based coalition of housing and community development agencies organizing for citywide policy that ensures development of real affordable housing
Looking ahead towards 2015 we are excited to broaden our work with new initiatives including:
- Developing the first worker cooperative incubator in Red Hook, allowing us to support employee ownership opportunities for low income and immigrant residents
- Planning and development of affordable housing in Red Hook and Southwest Brooklyn
- Growing an inclusive local economy by supporting homegrown entrepreneurs through an expanded workshop series
- Joining the fight for sustainable affordable housing in our communities by being members of the New York City Community Land Trust Initiative
We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to deepening our connections in 2015. Thank you and happy holidays!
